Really??...Already???...

It snowed last night...
and it wasn't just a dusting.

We were rudely awakened at 5am when the power line in our back yard starting exploding...no lie. See, when it snows before the leaves have had a chance to fall off, the branches get too weighed down with snow and rest on the power lines. Bad stuff. Every time the power would come back on, shortly following there was a LOUD crack/bang/light up the sky BOOM that was not too far from our 8 ft wide bedroom window. CREEPY.
I was ready to pack up the kids and flee...
Thankfully, the power company was at our house within 5 min. of calling and came and cut down the branch.

You can see the line sparking when they touched it with their clippers.

The up side...fresh snow is beautiful. I kept thinking today how blessed we were to be ok after the mornings events. I also had a cinnamon candle burning and that, plus the snow made it feel like Christmas time. Which is a bad thing because I've barely scratched the surface with my shopping...everyone would have received framed pictures of the burning electrical wire in our back yard. Not such a great gift...

WOW!!! That snow is really beautiful, but the power line thing is really scary!! I'm glad they responded so fast to your call! Weren't your kids wearing shorts to school just a couple of weeks ago? When did winter get here?

Is it Christmas or the Fourth of July?!

That is so much snow! We just had a 96 degree heat wave here in San Diego!

Stay Warm!

How fun! I love snow...too bad I only see it when I'm skiing...maybe that's why I love it!

I love the first snow. But I want it all gone and melted the day after Christmas...

I'm going to freeze my butt off.
It is pretty though. It will probably all be melted by the time I get there.

Boy oh boy, am I glad I only live in Minnesota. We won't get snow for another month or so. Hang in there and don't freeze.

I don't think it should be allowed to snow until DECEMBER.

And that is why I live where it do... :)

The snow is just beautiful...sorry for the dangerous situation it brought...but it really is beautiful.

Is this an early snow even for Utah? My kids would be so jealous!

I should have known you, the pop culture queen, would know that SNL skit! So glad I'm sitting here in 75 degree weather btw...

I'm sorry, but all that snow in October would really tick me off. That's just plain wrong. Where's your Indian summer?

That would be so, so depressing to me. IT's not even Halloween! That's just wrong!

I can't believe that! I remember that happening one year in Syracuse. All the little kids had to wear coats over their costumes. It was so sad. Hopefully, the weather will mellow by the 31st!

It's in the 90's here. When we were listening to the BYU game on Saturday and they told us the weather, we gasped...and then put on our swimsuits instead of snowsuits.

whaat? that's crazy! We're having 80 degree weather in Sardinia as well so I just can't imagine snow yet!

You take such good pictures, I tried taking pictures of the same thing and they didn't turn out near as well.
Anyway, we thought it was bad because of all of our electrical phones, and our fish tank that kept going on and off all night we were afraid it would wake the kids...little did we know what was happening right in YOUR backyard.
