fantastic...

Guess who is obsessed with make-up???
This chic.

Ever since our trip to San Diego where someone gave her a purse filled with lip gloss, lotion & moisturizer...this girl has been getting into my stuff.

Not good.
Especially when my MAC lipstick is involved.

Not such a good look on the arms.

Mascara, anyone???

She thought she looked fabulous.
It's all been locked up.

finished (almost)...

...the big girl room.
(I cried when John took the crib apart. Yep.)

She LOVES it! She asks to go to bed every night.

I was very relieved that the yellow worked out. In fact, I love it. I picked the color from the tiny bit of yellow on this pillow...then I crossed my fingers.
(the color...because I've been asked...is Behr Pismo Dunes)
I NEVER rely on the name of a color. I think that has very little to do with the acutal color. I usually hate the names given to paint. I just go and grab a handful of swatches, take them home, hang my favorites on the wall so I can see how they look in every light, then pick one. It's a pretty fool proof way of picking a color.

The only thing I still want to add are curtains. Then I'll feel completely finished...until I decide to redecorate!

There's a trundle that pulls out from the bottom so it makes the bed pretty high for a tiny one...poor girl is going to need a step stool just to get into bed!

so what...

It's 5:00pm and I'm sitting at my laptop eating licorice. Productive, no?
I have stuff to make {an easy} dinner...I just don't want to make it.
Any indication of the kind of day we've had? A hectic one.
We've actually been gone for most of it, which is usually a good thing. However, today I pushed my luck by running ONE more errand before going home. Disaster.
I'm pooped.

while the cat's away...

...the mouse will PAINT!

Lizzie's room is getting a makeover, and FINALLY a big girl bed. (I know, I know she's 3 1/2. I don't care, she's my baby. Leave me alone.)
Before the bed arrives, the room needed to be painted.
I got it done this morning (1/2 hour before the campers returned!)
I hope I chose the right shade of yellow.

...and they're off!!

John, Matt & Zach headed off to Scout camp for the week. The eleven year old scouts were invited by the older scouts to join them on their campout, and so they geared up & headed out.

The staging area:
This is one of John's MOST favorite things to do. Seriously.
He had more fun getting the three of them prepared for this trip than they will actually have on the trip.

Packing up:
And the sad boy who didn't get to go.

Matt's ready!
Think his smile will be this big at the end of the week?
Zach, the camping stud.

They have been hiking, horseback riding, hiking, knot tying, hiking, fishing and hiking. Oh yea...and hiking.
I can't wait to hear all of the details!

through John's eyes...

...I mean, lens!!
The man behind every good pic!
I picked my favorite pics that he took, he probably would have picked differently.

The Aquarium...

I'm thankful for the placement of my purse in this one...

The Obama inauguration...Lego style.

Miniland was probably John's favorite part of Legoland. It really is fun to see everything built in Legos...Las Vegas, Washington DC, New York City. We could have looked around there for hours.
Lego people waiting to use Lego porta potties!
I LOVE this pic of Matt.

I need to mention that if ever a picture shows up that merits any photography skills, it was taken by John. He has a natural talent, and loves to play around with his camera.
He is also a perfect travel companion.
Thanks for taking your family on a great vacation!!!

I was there, too!!!

I LOVE going on vacation, but I'm not one to {run, run, do, see}, every minute of the day while on vacation. I like to take it easy, enjoy each other, and have a great time. I like not being completely exhausted at the end, but knowing we had fun and made lots of fabulous memories.
Me & my man.
I love my Matt!!
Check out Matt here...I believe he said something about me being a Desperate Housewife in this pic. Thanks, bud.

We were going to take on Disneyland this year, but when the kids mentioned going to Legoland again...we jumped on it. It closer, it's cheaper, it only takes one day instead of three, etc.
How cute are they in the token "stand in front of the sign" pic??

I had a great time hanging out with my friends. I met Jamie and Heather for dinner and had so much fun catching up! I grew up with these girls and we laughed and talked, and laughed and talked, and laughed and talked. There may have been a few m&m's involved, as well.

I'm so glad I got to spend the day with Allison & Rachel and their cute kids!!

These guys had a great time, too. I think they spent about 4-5 hours in the pool!!

I always have to drive by the houses I lived in. The kids humor me and act like that is a cool thing to do...
I had a such a fun time and look forward to the next trip!!

Lizzie's turn...

She LOVED Legoland. Especially once she learned what a ride was...and then we had a hard time getting her off.
The cars were her very favorite. She went twice.

Mini land made her look like a GIANT.

Last time we were there she slept through the water park. Not this time!

Lizzie the little fish.

Is there anything better than playing dress up??

Especially when your Auntie gives you full reign of her jewelery.

Then Rachel let her have a turn with her hat. I think she liked being in hiding.

She made a new "best friend!"
(she was VERY tired here)

And well, I just had to put this pic in.

She keeps asking when we can go back to San Dewago.
Soon, I hope!!
