hold on tight...

“It is important not only to embrace your children frequently but also to be the last to let go. Make a habit of holding your child (no matter how old, whether two or twenty) until he/she lets go. When she wraps herself around you, stop what you are doing and hug her right back. And don’t let go, even if you have a hundred other things to do or if you are running ten minutes late to a conference. The most important thing at that moment in time is your child’s need to feel loved and reassured. Hug her back, and hold it, and be the last to let go.”
~Hannah Keeley

I got one of those hugs the other day...from him!!!

It was the BEST!!!

I found this quote on my friend Stacy's blog (sorry, she's private!)

What a great quote! I love hugs, and hugs from boys are especially valued as sometimes they think they're too old/cool for hugs. You lucky Mom!

I LOVE that quote. Luckily, my sweet boys are not stingy with the hugs..and either are the girls of course. Thanks for the good "excuse" to do my favorite thing.

Your kids have really grown up. I still remember Sam as the little tot who got squished by the toilet seat. He is VERY grown-up and sounds quite independent. Good to glimpse in on your life - you don't need wrinkle cream - I think you look wonderful!

I needed that quote today! Way to get a hormonal and emotional pregnant woman to cry! I am crying about everything with this pregnancy!

That is so sweet...I am going to be careful never to let go first! I am off to hug the first one I can find!

I've read that advice before and I love it. Those long hugs from kids are the best!

I've heard that quote and try to remember to do it--and never actually follow through. Maybe this time?!
