never say never...

I will NEVER...
*drive a mini van
*let my kids stay in their PJ's all day
*have children that fight in public (ahem)
*pick a pacifier up off the floor & give it back to MY baby
*buy clothes from a store that isn't located at the Mall
*allow my kids to have "crusty" noses, dirty faces, etc.
blah, blah, blah
(BTW...I've done ALL of those "nevers")

Today we needed to get out (as if errands, Kindergarten Testing, flyer delivering wasn't enough) we were bored & I was going CRAZY. Do you ever just draw a blank? You just can't come up with any ideas to kep everyone entertained? This was the BEST thing I could come up with. Seriously. We went to Smiths (a one-stop-shopping joint). We went specifically to Smiths because they have a {free} Playland. Now for all of you cute/young/first time moms out there that are thinking..."I would never..." Yea, I said that, too. My kids were thrilled to go in there, and I was thrilled to have them go in there. I was sooooo excited on the way there thinking of all of the browsing I would get to do...BY MYSELF. For an HOUR. I'm not saying that never happens (my husband is fab about me "breaking out"), it's just a rare thing in the middle of the day. Yea, I'm weird.
But, I did find this...50% off for next Summer.
Oh yea, and Sam cried when I picked him up. He missed me. Whatever. NEVER happens.

I must admit I have gone to the gym many a time NOT to work out, but just to let someone else watch the girls for an hour or two :-). Sometimes I really do work out and sometimes I just read a book by the pool. I love a good bargain...what a successful trip it was :-)!

i love that you won't take your kids to the playland. ok, so maybe my kids have gotten a disease there a time or 4 but I have no problem with those germ infested incubators. Good job for branching out and crossing off another NEVER to your list.
ps. sorry that we forced you to go to Smith's. Won't happen again, ever. don't act like you don't care, cause i know JUST how much you guys needed us today. HA HA HA!

I stopped saying 'never' a L-O-N-G time ago. (Unless it's things like "I'll NEVER live in a beach house" Come on, fate, I dare you!!) I'm glad you got out, and it's so nice that Sam missed you. He sounds like a real sweetheart!

I have eaten my, "I will Never" words so many times...it is kind of humiliating.

Sounds like fun. My child is the one that when I pick him up from somewhere especially the daycare at the gym he is the one who is screaming because he wants to stay and not come with me. Its a good thing cause I am glad he is so independent but then I dont want the daycare to wonder if we beat him at home. Oh kids so fun to come up with something to do every day....

My kids aren't even three yet and I have already hit EACH and EVERY never on your list. :)

I am all for those playland things. I just keep hand sanitizer everywhere and practically bathe my kids in it.

I love the sporty little outfit. It looks like a tennis or cheerleader outfit.
Sam knows how to work it.

My biggest "I would never" was answer a question with "because I said so"... alas... it's the most used phrase in my home.

Ah the "nevers". I stoped saying them like a year ago, because I went back on like 99% of my "nevers".

How fun to you though to shop alone! Woo HOo!

I just love listening to my younger sibs' "I'll nevers"...I should record them and play back in a few years. Parenting makes you eat your words! Cute post.
