Today was the 4th Grade Pageant and it was all about the history of the great state of Utah. Each kid had the opportunity of being an Indian, a moutain man, a pioneer, etc. There was even a little Brigham Young. The fourth grade has been learning things throughout the year about all of the many things that make up Utah, and were able to compile all of that information into a fabulous musical. That made up for two diaramas, two rock experiments, an oral report on Miles Goodyear (mountain man), etc. I'm serious, there were tears flowing on every row of parents!
Matt and Zach were so excited to be a part of this. They were each Mountain Men, and Matt got to help conduct the flag ceremony. Each kid could purchase a CD of the music for .50 and they have been singing their hearts out at home!
Say what you want about Utah, but I have never been more proud to live here. A Southern Cali transplant, or not...I love this place!

I remember when I was in the 4th grade in California my teacher Mrs. Dial said there was no such bird as the seagul. So Utah's state bird was not the seagul. They were gulls.
Potatoe, Potahtoe, old lady.
Utah rules.
Amen Sista!!
I love it here too.
So people say mau-un instead of mountain... it could be worse!
I love the Mountain men! Guns and furs...good stuff! I want to hear the Song!!
Oh I DO remember our fourth grade Utah history production. I was dressed up as some pioneer who was the first woman to do something or other. My friend Libby got to be one of the floosies who lay on top of the piano at the local tavern. oh how jealous i was.
Floosies?? Wow! They've done away with them...no floosies this year. DANG!
Awwww school plays we all did them and all laugh at ourselves later watching them. The funny thing is most ofthem havent changed much. Good job to your boys I am sure they were great....
Yay for Utah! I loved 4th grade in Utah so much that I grew up and taught 4th grade! The Utah History program is the best.
