In an attempt to regain my "cool" status, and TOTALLY ignoring what happened the last time I tried to sing along to a song in the car...
...the other day I had been in the car quite a bit and had heard the same Hannah Montana song two or three times and was feeling pretty good about my knowledge of the lyrics. They go something like this...
"the last time I freaked out..."
So, driving Matt & Zach home from the orthodontist we heard the song & I belted out the lyrics. Their response..."Mom, could you go "freak out" somewhere else...I'm trying to read."
Time, once again to just hike up the "mom jeans" & give up.

Come to my house and freak out! Next time I'm in the car with them I'm going to freak their freak!!
I love that song-- yes... I admit I like Hannah Montana.
Maybe if you wear a blond wig?? ;)
Annemarie - you tell those boys that late 30's is the new 20. So, sing girl Sing!
I don't know any Hannah Montana songs myself, but you go girl!!!
at least this time it was someone that they had actually heard of. hillarious. just keep doing it, i think it's great. Brooklyn's favorite song that I sing in the car is Fergies "big girls don't cry" she joins in. precious. and zach is back there going crazy
On several occasions Michael has told me to quit singing. I sang even louder and more obnoxious. He thought it was funny. Try that next time and report.
To bad those boys don't have any taste. Singing is a talent in the family and I'll bet one of them will end up doing it. Ha Ha Ha!
No, don't stop...this is the perfect time to sing louder. They will learn to love it. This is coming from a mom who "freaks out" as well!
That's so funny! My boys always ask me not to sing when I start "freaking out" in the car. I didn't think I'd really embarrass them like that for another 8 or 9 years.
Has Lizzie been singing Cheat! Tha t was so FUNNY!
OH that is FUNNY! I'm dying. I refuse to be humiliated by my children... but I know that time is coming!
I wouldn't know Hannah Montana if she fell on my head - you're way cooler than I am - which doesn't help your cause, but I say just keep doing what you're doing, your kids will love it when they're teenagers and you're the cool mom!
Yeah, you're the COOL MOM! Leave the pants where they are and have fun!!! Life is too short to not enjoy it.
Yeah, when I sing along to the HSM2 soundtrack, I am very rudely asked (by a 4-year-old) to not sing.
I still do...I'm the boss...OK, I hum it...in my head.
