future co eds...

We are doing our best to fill up our last days of Summer.
We took a trip to Provo/BYU to fill up an afternoon.
We started out with a visit to Evan & Jenni!

(there was a lot of movement so my pics stink.)
Evan & Lizzie wrestling.
If Evan is laying on the floor it's just an open invitation to pounce...right?
She thinks so.
Then we all went bowling!
Jenni was so nice to Lizzie. She even gave up one of her turns for her.
That's love!

This blurry pic isn't my fault. It's the fault of the random guy I asked to take it.
No trip to BYU would be complete without a visit to the Creamery for some of the best ice cream ever. (unless your Sam & you pick a bag of cinnamon bears from the Book Store for your treat)

"The world is our campus."
hee hee

We also had to make a stop at the Quicksilver Factory store where these boys have been waiting to go all Summer. If you have boys this age and live remotely close it's worth a trip. You don't even have to step on to Cougar territory to go there. Not that anyone has a problem with that, right?

what can four eleven year old boys get...

...for about $12.00 at the grocery store?

This really just cracks me up.
(The "hard carved sono" items are necklaces...glad they got three of them)

fantastic...

Guess who is obsessed with make-up???
This chic.

Ever since our trip to San Diego where someone gave her a purse filled with lip gloss, lotion & moisturizer...this girl has been getting into my stuff.

Not good.
Especially when my MAC lipstick is involved.

Not such a good look on the arms.

Mascara, anyone???

She thought she looked fabulous.
It's all been locked up.

finished (almost)...

...the big girl room.
(I cried when John took the crib apart. Yep.)

She LOVES it! She asks to go to bed every night.

I was very relieved that the yellow worked out. In fact, I love it. I picked the color from the tiny bit of yellow on this pillow...then I crossed my fingers.
(the color...because I've been asked...is Behr Pismo Dunes)
I NEVER rely on the name of a color. I think that has very little to do with the acutal color. I usually hate the names given to paint. I just go and grab a handful of swatches, take them home, hang my favorites on the wall so I can see how they look in every light, then pick one. It's a pretty fool proof way of picking a color.

The only thing I still want to add are curtains. Then I'll feel completely finished...until I decide to redecorate!

There's a trundle that pulls out from the bottom so it makes the bed pretty high for a tiny one...poor girl is going to need a step stool just to get into bed!

so what...

It's 5:00pm and I'm sitting at my laptop eating licorice. Productive, no?
I have stuff to make {an easy} dinner...I just don't want to make it.
Any indication of the kind of day we've had? A hectic one.
We've actually been gone for most of it, which is usually a good thing. However, today I pushed my luck by running ONE more errand before going home. Disaster.
I'm pooped.

while the cat's away...

...the mouse will PAINT!

Lizzie's room is getting a makeover, and FINALLY a big girl bed. (I know, I know she's 3 1/2. I don't care, she's my baby. Leave me alone.)
Before the bed arrives, the room needed to be painted.
I got it done this morning (1/2 hour before the campers returned!)
I hope I chose the right shade of yellow.

...and they're off!!

John, Matt & Zach headed off to Scout camp for the week. The eleven year old scouts were invited by the older scouts to join them on their campout, and so they geared up & headed out.

The staging area:
This is one of John's MOST favorite things to do. Seriously.
He had more fun getting the three of them prepared for this trip than they will actually have on the trip.

Packing up:
And the sad boy who didn't get to go.

Matt's ready!
Think his smile will be this big at the end of the week?
Zach, the camping stud.

They have been hiking, horseback riding, hiking, knot tying, hiking, fishing and hiking. Oh yea...and hiking.
I can't wait to hear all of the details!
