I just returned from taking my kids to have a "portrait" (blah!) taken..it's the ONLY thing my mother-in-law requested for Christmas...you know, the kind where everyone does a fake smile looking right at the camera (again, blah!)
This pretty much sums it up....I think each of the boys has a bruise on their upper arm from being grabbed/pinched by me in order to get their attention; Lizzie found the light switch in the portrait studio..enough said; there may be more pics of the ugly white bear that Sam kept throwing in front of the camera than of the kids fake smiles; Lizzie kept doing her ultra high-pitched scream while I was attempting to pick out which pics I was going to purchase; It was the last day to have portraits taken in order to get them by Christmas...IT WAS A ZOO!!!
I need a nap...

What is it about family pictures that gives kids a rash?! I only ask for this once a year. Coordinated outfits, smiling faces, pretend like we like eachother... is that too much to ask??!!
Oh my gosh! LOL!!!! Empathy is all I can really say about this story. You did fail to mention if any of the pictures turned out. I remember one year, they all looked crappy so I left the store feeling complete STRESS with no pictures purchased!
Here's an idea for next Christmas. Tell your M-I-L she'll get the pictures for Christmas if her present to you is to take the kids to get them taken!
Girl you better let me take charge next year!!!! I promise I'll only have the ugly white bear in a few pics *snicker*
